“Lost and Found”

Have you ever lost something? All of us have. What do you do? It really depends on how important that lost thing is. If unimportant, we may chalk it up to “no big deal,” but if the thing lost is vital, expensive or important to us, we’ll “move heaven and earth” to find it. In this series, Lost & Found, we will examine Luke 15. In Luke 15 are famous parables: the lost sheep, the lost coin and the, so-called, prodigal son. In each case something valuable is lost and found. The result is joy from finding these lost things. As Jesus uses these parables to teach, He is showing us what He finds valuable. These measure our character against the character of God. If we are truly maturing spiritually, our desires will increasingly match His. In a sense, these parables will tell us IF we care. In another sense they will tell us WHAT we actually care about.
